License Requirements:

  • Minimum US Coast Guard Limited Masters License suitable for operating a 20 passenger inspected vessel

  • Current CPR, AED & First Aid Certificates

  • Enrollment in Club sponsored Random Drug Testing Program is MANDATORY

Position Description

Launch Drivers are responsible for safely and efficiently transporting Club members and transient guests to and from their vessel, using the Club's two diesel launches. BPYC is surrounded by strong currents, and all Launch Drivers must be able to safely navigate through the mooring field in such conditions. Launch Drivers perform routine maintenance around the Club, at times assist the Jr. Sailing Program Instructors, and occasionally assist in onsite member events.

Launch Drivers report to the Club Manager, with whom he/she/they works to ensure the smooth functioning and proper maintenance of the Club. This is a hands on position, which requires critical thinking and reasoning skills. After proper training, the Launch Staff is expected

to be independently proactive, and pitch in wherever and whenever required, working for the overall benefit of the Club and the membership at large.

Specific Job Accountabilities

  • Properly open and close club and launch vessels at the beginning of each shift

  • Keep daily Log Book

  • Conduct daily maintenance of launches

  • Safely drive members, members’ guests, and transients to and from their vessels in the mooring fields as required

  • Collect mooring fees from transient guests, enter transactions in the Daily Cash Account, and use Dockwa software to accept transient mooring reservations as needed

  • Assist in pumping fuel for members and transients, and enter transactions in Daily Cash Account and Fuel Log Book.

  • Assist in various Club projects as assigned by Manager during low volume launch service

  • Perform routine launch, club & grounds cleaning and maintenance chores when needed

  • Attend weekly meetings with the entire BPYC staff

  • Attend BPYC special events as needed

  • Adhere to the BPYC Employee Handbook and Operations Manual

  • Promote and support the overall values of the Club, Officers, Trustees, staff and programs of BPYC
